Staff Code of Conduct
1. Scope & Applicability
This Staff Code of Conduct applies to all moderators, administrators, community managers, trial staff, and technical infrastructure operators (collectively, "Staff Members") within Lyra Social Group. Holding a staff position is a privilege, not a title of status. Staff members are held to a higher standard of conduct both within public channels and behind the scenes.
2. Core Operational Standards
A. Professionalism & Neutrality
- Objectivity: Staff members must remain calm, neutral, and fair when resolving disputes, handling tickets, or enforcing server rules.
- Conflict of Interest: Moderators must recuse themselves from handling tickets, reports, or disciplinary decisions involving close personal friends, partners, or individuals with whom they have an active personal dispute.
- Representation: When acting in an official capacity or wearing staff roles, your actions reflect directly on Lyra Social Group. Public toxicity, baiting, or escalating drama will not be tolerated.
B. Confidentiality & Privacy Integrity
- Internal Logs & Data: Audit logs, ticket transcripts, internal staff discussions, telemetry data, and private user reports are strictly confidential.
- Non-Disclosure: Sharing screenshots, quoting internal staff channels, leaking upcoming project updates, or disclosing personal user data to non-staff members constitutes a critical security breach and will result in immediate termination of staff status.
C. Accountability & Power Usage
- Proportional Enforcement: Moderation actions (warnings, mutes, kicks, bans) must follow established guidelines (
community/moderation.md) and be backed by documented evidence. - Prohibition of Abuse: Unwarranted kicks or bans, misuse of administrative bot commands, vanity role manipulation, or privilege escalation for personal amusement are strictly prohibited.
- Transparency: All formal disciplinary actions taken against users must be logged in the designated internal channels with appropriate reason codes and evidence.
3. Escalation & Conflict Resolution
- If a staff member believes a moderation decision was handled incorrectly by a peer, the issue must be discussed privately within internal staff channels or escalated to Administration. Publicly arguing with or overriding another staff member's actions in member-facing channels is strictly forbidden.
- Community complaints regarding staff misconduct are handled directly by Administration via private ticket or email.
4. Disciplinary Procedures & Removal
Failure to adhere to this Code of Conduct will result in immediate administrative action, structured as follows based on severity:
- Formal Verbal/Internal Warning: Minor infractions or lapses in protocol.
- Temporary Suspension: Role removal and pause of administrative duties pending review.
- Permanent Removal & Blacklist: Immediate demotion, revocation of all access privileges, and potential blacklist from community spaces for severe breaches (e.g., leaks, deliberate abuse of power, harassment).
