Appeals Policy
1. Purpose & Scope
This Appeals Policy outlines the official protocols and review procedures for individuals seeking to challenge disciplinary actions—including server mutes, role restrictions, kicks, and permanent bans—issued across Lyra Social Group platforms. We are committed to providing a fair, objective, and transparent mechanism to re-evaluate enforcement decisions.
2. Appeal Eligibility & Waiting Periods
A. General Eligibility
- Standard Ban Appeals: Members subject to a permanent ban or major access restriction are eligible to submit a formal appeal after a 14-day waiting period from the date the disciplinary action was enacted. Appeals submitted prior to the expiration of this 14-day period will be automatically rejected.
- Temporary Actions: Timeouts, temporary mutes (under 14 days), and minor warnings are generally managed through standard support channels rather than formal ban appeal procedures unless clear staff misconduct is alleged.
B. Ineligible Infractions (Automatic Rejection)
To protect community safety and regulatory compliance, appeals submitted for actions resulting from severe zero-tolerance infractions (community/moderation.md) will be denied automatically without formal review. Non-appealable infractions include, but are not limited to:
- Doxxing, publishing private real-world information, or targeted real-life harassment.
- Distribution of malware, malicious software, IP loggers, or participating in cyberattacks/raids.
- Distribution or promotion of illegal material or severe hate speech.
- Exploitative or predatory behavior toward community members.
3. Appeal Submission & Review Workflow
A. Submission Protocol
- Official Form: Appeals must be submitted strictly through the official appeal form or by emailing LEGAL@LYRAFOXWOOD.APP with the subject line
Formal Ban Appeal - [Discord User ID / Username]. - Required Information: Submissions must include the user's registered ID/username, approximate date of action, the reason provided upon removal, and a clear explanation of why the restriction should be reconsidered (including steps taken to rectify past behavior).
B. Review & Investigation
- Objective Reviewer: All appeals are assigned to an un-involved senior staff member or member of the Lyra Social Group Administration who was not directly involved in issuing the original penalty.
- Evidence Audit: The reviewing authority will examine internal moderation logs, archived evidence files, transcript records, and the appellant's statement to determine whether policy was applied correctly.
C. Determinations & Finality
- Possible Outcomes: Appeals may result in a full reinstatement, conditional reinstatement (probationary period), reduction of penalty duration, or complete denial.
- Final Authority: Decisions rendered by the Lyra Social Group Appeals Board or Senior Administration are final. Repeating or spamming appeal forms following a final denial will result in a permanent block of communication channels.
